European Union Netherlands ArubaSome Vacation Activities For Aruba

By Jacob Richard

Unlike many of the Caribbean islands, Aruba has much less of a violent history. With a fairly small population of just about 90,000 people, and a very tranquil past, the island offers a wonderful array of welcoming activities for any holidaymaker to get involved with. While it might lack some of the lush and very green foliage of some of the wetter islands in the Caribbean, the island still offers some stunning and magnificent landscapes. If you are planning to travel to Aruba for a holiday, you might want to consider some of these things to get involved with.

There is absolutely no shortage of spectacular beaches on the island, and therefore anyone who simply wants to lounge on the beach and listen to the waves lapping against the beautiful white sand will not be disappointed. The calm waters at Palm Beach make it ideal for people who want to swim or people who have intentions to swim feel safe. There are also some great snorkeling and scuba-diving opportunities at different spots as well.

Windsurfers can also enjoy themselves as there is no shortage of excellent locations, particularly Hadicurari beach. In terms of snorkeling, is absolutely the perfect spot to choose. While there are some excellent spots all over the island, this is definitely ranked at the first. The beach here is certainly one of the most popular destinations in the whole island. You must experience this yourself and you will then immediately understand why Arashi Reef is a good place for snorkeling. Once you have delved beneath the surface of the water and see all the magnificent fishes, corals and other wildlife, you will love this place.

There are also other water activities that can be indulged in as well, such as parasailing, jet skiing and deep sea fishing. There are even submarine tours that you can go on as well. There are many different businesses that cater to these different activities all over the island. Therefore, no matter where you are, you should be able to find something to suit your tastes.

Local festivals are also available and they highlight the spirit and general ambience of the island. The Bondini festival occurs every single week and celebrates with lots of local dancers, musicians, and artists. The Caribbean Festival is also held every week and during this festival, the culture of the island through its traditional food, dance, and music will be showcased.

Arikok National Park is also a must visit location if you want to explore some excellent trails and hikes. You can find some exotic animals, plants, and other wildlife here. What*s more? You can also see some of the absolutely magnificent views across the island at the park. If you are someone who loves the nature, you will love this place.

Of course, no trip to any island would be complete unless you took time out to visit the capital city, in this case, Oranjestad. Here, you can really get involved with the history of the island. A visit to the National Museum will certainly help you understand some of its past. There are also excellent markets that you can visit, and you can witness all of the beautiful architecture of the region.

All in all, Aruba offers a little something for everyone who wants to enjoy a traditional island vacation. While there are plenty of options to choose from within the Caribbean Sea, this beautiful little island certainly packs a punch.
