To earn votes for your flag of choice, select a flag you want to vote for above, and simply post in the forum or visit pages on the website while logged in.
Here are some places that you can earn votes for your flag:
The rules are simple. Every month we will create a new poll in which you can vote for which flag you want to appear on top. At the end of the month, we will declare a winner. The winning flag will fly high above everyone
else's for one month, during which time, people will vote for the following month.
Don't forget to "vote early and vote often!" And be sure to tell
your friends so they can vote too!
All countries are reset back to 0 votes at the beginning of each month for a new battle. (This may or may not happen exactly at midnight of the last day of the month because I currently have to manually update this page. When I have time, I will automate it, but until then....)
At midnight on the last day of the month, we close the monthly poll. If you are voting at that time, you may get a message
saying that the "topic is closed." If you want to continue voting for the next month, the new poll is posted in
The Caribbean Room in the Forums immediately after
voting closes for the previous month. Immediately after that, this page will be updated with the current results and will link to the new poll in the forum.
Battle of the Islands II
Since the rules are changing, we are going to retire the current battle
and call it "Battle of the Islands I" and start a new version called
"Battle of the Islands II."
Battle of the Islands I will be ending May 2006 and all results will be
stored for historical purposes.
All the world records and monthly battles will be available to view and will be marked as
"Battle of the Islands I World Records" for reference.
Battle of the Islands II will start in June 2006 and will start off with
a clean slate with all world records set back to zero (0).
All world records from "Battle of the Islands II" will be labelled as
"Battle of the Islands II World Records."
We decided to do this because under the new rules it is impossible to achieve
the same number of votes as you could under the old rules. And we had to change the
rules because people were voting so fast that it was overloading the server.
You MUST be logged in and use the form provided to vote. Using any other method of voting is considered cheating.
Scripts of any kind are prohibited.
Note: Using a script to vote will result in a partial ban. Repeated use of a script will result in a permanent ban. Several people were using scripts to vote and they overloaded our server making it inaccessible to everyone. So, please, do not use scripts. It slows down the server, and often, as we saw in June, overload the server. Thank you.
As a result of people using scripts and overloading our server, we must now require that you register as a member of CaribbeanChoice, which is free, in order to vote.
Effective February 2005, we now track how often each member is voting in a battle.
Effective May 2006, in order to reduce the load on the web server, we are changing the way people vote in the battle. You now earn votes based on actions you take on the website while logged in, including posting in the forum of visting specially marked web pages.
