 Wedding Information     

Fees: Marriage License: $110.00 U.S. in British Virgin Island postage stamps if non-resident

$60.00 U.S. in BVI postage stamp if a resident.

Marriage Officers: $35.00 U.S. if married within Registrar’s office and $100 U.S. if married outside of the Registrar’s office.

Requirements:

  • Candidate(s) must be on the island for 3 days if British Virgin Island if resident.
  • Candidate(s) must be on the island for at least 15 days if non-resident.
  • Passport or birth certificate and photo identification.
  • Proof of divorce or death certificate, if applicable. All documents should be originals or should be certified as true copies of the original.
  • Two witnesses to sign application form for license and to witness the ceremony (Not necessarily the same witnesses for both).
  • License application from the Attorney General’s office in Tortola on the first day.
  • If wedding is performed in a local church, the wedding banns need to be published three consecutive Sundays or Saturdays prior to the ceremony.
  • Birth certificate - must include father's name.
