Carnival in Cuba
Carnival is a time for great merriment and fun in Cuba. There is great activity during the month of February for carnival, as it is one of the most exciting and anticipated events of the year. Cubans are creative with their colourful costumes, parades, song and traditional dances. Carnival takes place in Havana, Varadero and Santiago de Cuba. The carnivals in Havana and Santiago de Cuba start during the second week of February and last about three weeks. The carnival in Varadero takes place in the last weekend of June and goes for one week. These carnivals consist of huge street parties starting.
