What is happening in Dominica:
There are a tremendous number of events that can be found and done in Dominica as it is known as "the Nature Island". It has a lush mountainous interior of rainforests, waterfalls, lakes and more than three hundred rivers. It also has a number of other festive events from Carnival and Calypso celebrations.

The Dominica's Carnival celebrations are held during the traditional Mardi Gras period, which is held two weeks prior to Lent, which occurs either in February/March. It includes a calypso competition, a Carnival Queen contest, jump-up and costume parades.

Creole Day is a celebration of the island's Creole language and culture. It includes traditional dancing, folklore, food and music.

The Boxing Day holiday the rich took that from the British in which they boxed the foods after Christmas day, to give the less fortunate. There are dances and horse racing on this day.
