Dominican RepublicEnjoy All Inclusive Holidays To The Dominican Republic

By Fleur Fisher

 Travel Review

The Dominican Republic is the Caribbean's most popular destination. Like many of the Islands popular among holidaymakers, it has pristine white sandy beaches and crystal clear blue waters. The country has a very warm climate that does not vary too much throughout the year, though the summer months are very hot. A good time to go is during the European winter months when it is a little cooler, and the hotel prices are very reasonable. The Dominican Republic is known for its good value all inclusive holidays and generally being excellent value for money.

The Dominican Republic has so much for holidaymakers to do, from exploring the country's history to golfing, watersports and clubbing. One of the most popular destinations is the capital Santo Domingo, the largest capital city in the Caribbean. Santo Domingo has a population of over two million, quite surprising for such a small nation. In the Zona Colonial the modern skyscrapers give way to historic buildings left by the first Spanish settlers, including the Fortaleza Ozama - the oldest fort in the Americas. Outside of the capital are a number of areas that are of interest to holidaymakers.

The south east of the Island has some of the most popular resorts around Bavaro and Punta Cana, lying along an idyllic sandy strip of coast. These stunning beaches stretch along 30 miles and are lined with beautiful all inclusive hotels. This coast has two national parks, the Parque Nacional del Este and the Parque Nacional Los Haitises. The latter is known for its Mangrove swamps and there are a number of Taino caves where holidaymakers can see the drawings left behind by the ancient peoples of the Island.

The four-star Vik Arena Blanca Hotel is one of Bavaro's best establishments. The hotel has beautiful landscaped gardens, a large pool lined with palm trees and you can walk straight onto the white sands of Bavaro beach. The hotel is just 25 minutes from the airport at Punta Cana where cheap flights are available to and from New York - perfect for visitors who want to spend as much of their holiday as possible in the resort rather than travelling to it. The Vik Arena Blanca is excellent if you love watersports, with parasailing, jet skiing and banana boats all on offer.

For some five-star luxury the Punta Cana Princess All Suites & Spa is a good place for holidaymakers to visit. Located moments from Bavaro beach in Punta Cana, the hotel has a choice of opulent rooms with garden views and spectacular beach view rooms for that extra special experience on Dominican package holidays. The hotel has three large swimming pools facing the beach. Guests have the choice of yoga, Pilates and tai-chi for relaxation and fitness, or use of the gym to work up a sweat before relaxing on the beach.

So if you're looking for somewhere luxurious and completely relaxing, think about coming to the Dominican Republic. Try to explore this beautiful Island to get the most out of your holidays.
