Dominican Republic: Weddings
Fees:$20.00 U.S
Requirements:
- Birth certificate(s)
and legal Passports for the couple and any foreign witnesses
- Notarized letter from
an attorney, legalized by their embassy stating that the person is of
single status.
- U.S. citizens are
required to write to the American Consulate in Santo Domingo, in advance
of intended wedding date, requesting permission to marry (civil
ceremony).
- Notarized copies of
Divorce Decree or Death Certificate.
- Two witnesses must be
present at the ceremony (with photo IDs)
- Documents must be translated into Spanish upon arrival
- Proof of divorce or
death certificate, if applicable
- Parties must be at
least 18 years of age
The Marriage certificate will be ready one day after the wedding.
