Well, a couple questions first:
Is your virus software up-to-date? Or hasn't it been updated in while?
If you are using Windows, did you install Windows Defender?

I don't think it's updated, Scott. I should look into that. Thanks. No, I didn't install Windows Defender - whatever that is.
I got real mad and cancelled my account with Pennswoods. Now I'm going to eat crow and re-open the account.

If your virus protection isn't updated, it does little good, because new viruses are invented every day, and your virus protection only protects you from viruses that existed before the last time you updated it. Here is a link to Windows Defender. Not sure if you can save it on a CD on one computer and then install it from a CD to another. You might have to use this after you fix your computer to prevent more errors. Do you have Firefox? If so, what version? And have you tried that instead of Internet Explorer (IE) (the "E"). This would tell us if it was an IE problem or some other problem. Did you install anything, download anything, or visit any suspicious webpage before it stopped working?

I did not or download anything. I can't remember visiting any webpage.... So do I need to call in the computer repairman, Scott?

Do all web pages show like that, or just the first page that comes up by default?

Wow Sandra -join the club... what kind of internet service you have...High speed... DSL? Internet Explorer (IE) browser Did you go to Tools: " diagnose connection problem" *****
make sure "work off line" is not checked ****** Is "phishing filter " turned on?...(it's a tripper) ******
Sometimes canceling the service then turning it back on a few days later, works . The only thing is I usually go to a different provider; but if there is no competition...
When the Antivirus expire it tends to be a hassle also. The possible update usually clash with the original(expired) one that came with the computer (something about the signature).
I have used the Defender to cleanup; but if used systimatically it tends to identify everything non Microsoft as an intruder, so I uninstalled it... Also you have to join some "allow to track" group...I declined, so they kept saying they could not help me because I wouldn't allow them possesion of my computer (as if they are not in charge already).
Perhaps you should go to >Start click on >Control Panel to "Performance&Maintenance" and clean up the "temporary internet files"....
I know the frustration... I live with it everyday... I still can't post to CC using IE, since I started using Firefox. My cursor is a 'no show' when I click...I can use 'wordpad' to write then post; I can post emoticons or the 'insert hyperlink' ; but no direct writing..
I was also told that Netzero(internet Service Provider) does not support anything that is not from Microsoft...It does not support Netscape.
I still juggle them tho... Good luck!

Hey, thanks all. We had no internet service on the job for the past day and a half. It just came back on.
Weezie, Scott, I don't really know much about DSL or high speed. I think it's DSL. I'll re-open my account and see what happens. If I have to re-new the anti-virus thingamagoo, I'll do so.
Thanks heaps.
