Calendar Event: Battle of the Islands - September 2007 Posted: 02 Sept 2007 at 5:41pm |
Battle of the Islands II!
A little friendly competition to see who can vote their flag to the top!
A New Way to Vote!
Now you can vote for your favorite flag simply visiting CaribbeanChoice while logged in or by posting in the forum!
-
Step 1: Register to Vote To have your votes count for the flag you chose, you must register to vote! Visit this page and select which flag you want to vote for!
-
Step 2: Post in the Forum or Visit Specially Marked Pages Every
time you post in the forum, 10 votes are automatically credited toward
the flag you chose in the Battle of the Islands. You must be logged in
for the votes to count.
This new way to vote will help reduce the load on the web server
(the reason why you sometimes could not reach the website) and also
reward those who participate on CaribbeanChoice.
More ways to vote will be posted here soon!
Traditional Way: Voting in the Poll
Due to the web server being overloaded by people voting too fast or too many people voting at the same time, we have limited multiple voting by poll. You may vote in this poll 20,000 times via this poll. Once you have reached 20,000 votes, the only way to increase your votes after that is to post in the forum.
Voting too fast will result in an error. Just slow down and you should be fine.
Current Stats
To see the current statistic presented in an easier to read format, visit the main Battle of the Islands page. Let the Battle Begin!
and Good Luck!

As some of you may have noticed, there are some changes to the list of countries you can vote for. This is due to some political changes in the Caribbean. The Netherlands Antilles is being disbanded and all the soon-to-be former members will all go their separate ways. Also, St. Martin (French) and St. Barts are no longer part of Guadeloupe.
You can still vote for the Netherlands Antilles until it is officially disbanded in December 2008. After that, the Netherlands Antilles will be removed as a battle choice.
If we don't have flags for a particular island or if the island does not have an official flag, we will show the flag of the parent country or political entity.

Maybe we should label them as St. Martin (French) and St. Maarten (Dutch) to avoid confusion? What do you think?
And thanks for the flags Shucander. They are too big, but I should be able to resize them to get them 30x18 pixels in size.

Holland is a region in the central-western part of the Netherlands, and is one of the more well known regions of the Netherlands. Briefly, there was a Kingdom of Holland during the French Empire era.
