    Posted: 12†Dec†2007 at 7:46am

                                        Dear friends

Its Christmas (kwanzaa)two thousand and seven, another year has passed and we are still here, regretfully there are many who is no longer with us, for those we take a moment out of our busy time to remember them whether fondly or not.

For me it has been quite an eventful period especially after my brush with a minor heart attack which thanking God, was not too serious, being a diabetic there are certain medical problems we suffer from, one of these is called neuropathy, this is a condition where your nerves donít work too good, so it affects all part of the body. Apparently it also affects memory because I find folks are greeting me hugging etc. The whole works, but darn if I know who they are, one of the most embarrassing was a rather pretty lady who remembered certain events which I wonít mention and of course I didnít, so I had to fluff it, oh boy thatís old age but I would rather blame it on diabetes.

Then there is the big one when suddenly after you got use to them saying ďpopsĒ, now they saying Gramps, or the ladies gets up to give you their seat.  @#$% thatís when you are really old.  Oh boy where is the kaopectate?. At 69 I feel like 100, well a good 100. LOL.  Had a trip to Jamaica to spend time with my favorite nieces, well would you know it, I came down with dengue fever, talk about Luck , well the good part my niece nursed me and she was really good, but most of the time I was bed ridden but hell I lost over 10lbs so I cant complain.

\

We did not have any hurricane this year thatís another thing to thank the powers, that be, for. After the ideal with Ivan we are still recovering, then there is always a scare where you batten down your house and nothing happens, so all nerves are frayed and you buy all sort of tin goods. Now comes the period of using them up thank heaven I like tin corn beef. You ever make Corn beef Patties, or tin string bean casserole? Well donít try it. it ainít that good.

Today its as beautiful a day as you can get. So today after I get off work at 1PM , Iíll go driving to somewhere by the sea and have a light lunch. My vacation starts on the 17th till the 7th of January. It seems that my sons kids will be here so Iíll have some fun, having fun with 8 year old can be strenuous and exhausting but fun. To keep them quiet I take them to Pizza Hut then the park by the sea, after a few hours  they are ready to go home and  chill out. If they still not tired give them a big ball and let them loose in the back yard and just sit on the patio and watch them, oh that can make you so tired. So a nice rum and tonic will just hit the spot then.

I seem to have a taste for sushi this season , well its not fattening so I donít have to feel guilty, so every excuse I find, I am at one of the many sushi bars they have here, Cayman  for its small space (24miles long, all the islands together is only 100 sq. miles)  has got to have the most restaurants in the Caribbean, Indian , French name it and its here. Last week I went to Thai then this week I went to a Philippine , a few weeks ago I went to Honduran eatery . So you can never be bored with restaurants here.

I started the season off with my usual attendance at a choral concert with the Cayman National choir, and the national Orchestra  they are good even though they are made up of mostly English folks who now live here, there was may be about 4 dark folks in the whole group and even the dark folks spoke with a English lilt. Well they do own us. But I must say it was good and I always have a good time. So the christmas season has really begun,

So to you all have a great season and enjoy yourselves.

Hear from you on the topside of 2008
