good idea. I have to think about me because I have no strict rules in my friendships. I am friendly and open person. So I can have talk (even intimate) with lot of people. I like to talk about my life with my family (e.g. cousin), my friends and also "virtual" friends and co-workers. All right, sometimes I am hurt because I offer my inner world to lot of people. But I have mostly good experiences.
Since I remember, in the kindergarten I was leader and everyone was my friend (I liked them all). In basic school I have one and only best friend but she was abusing me psychically (as children, we both didn't know about it, I realize it later...) and we separated after 14 years of intensive friendship. After I left basic school and went to 8-years-one grammar school, I had many many friends again. I met two of my good friends there and I meet them up today.
When we started to work and they worked abroad, I had my best friend in my ex-boyfriend I lived with. Then he left me and I started to be more individual and now I am used to do things alone or with my mom. I rely on myself or family again.
When one of my best friend returned home, I was used to meet more people but rely on myself. And she was confused because she said me that she feels like she isn't my best friend anymore because I don't care about her in such big amount and over others. She was a bit jealous but I explained her that when she left me here and went abroad, I have to rely more on myself and I was meeting with more people.
We have a circle of people - it is stable for some 8 years now. We go outside to pubs in the downtown or to the nature by the fire. We attend the festivals together and celebrate everyone's birthdays together. I like everyone and can go outside in two or help and get help with anything. I trust them.
My "problem" is, that I have huuuuuge bunch of interests. And there's no other person who shares everything with me (and it's OK). So I select people - if it's about girlie talk, I call my two best friends. If it's about buying a flat, I call my parents and my cousin. If it's about Africa, I call my African friend from Ghana. If it's about Caribbean, I talk with my CCF. If it's about medicine or visiting theatre, I call my mom. For computers, I call dad. If about music, I talk with my friend Andy from the crew. And if about dance, I talk with my co-workers or boss. I talk with my aunt about books and about NGOs with my friend Suzi who work in one. With friend Nancy I talk about sexi guys, rock music and all the dirty things from my bad youth

I think you got my point.
sorry to talk so much
