Interesting ... some of the terms I have never encountered in my life ... makes one wonder what we are getting for an education nowadays ... guess one can argue that it has to do with relevance and context ... its a very different world we now share ...

funny is, that our (Slovak) pupils must have a lot of such level knowledge. We learn a lot of encyklopeaedic knowledge and we are under-estimated to say own opinion...
For example our grammar is soooo difficult.
I am not satisfied with the style of geography: we learnt about all countries like from the encyklopeadia but we didn't know nothing about people, their lives, culture, problems (what started to interest me later).
What I am proud of is our biology classes - we learnt a lot of things in Latin language, and I find it great.

Incite some action for change Roggy ... pretty easy if you understand "tipping point" phenomenon ... works like an epidemic of the flu am told and am convinced based on my experiences ... now am really working it ...

I think that with the spreading of internet, pupils started to be more selfconfident. They contact whole world, speak foreign languages, search for information and know a lot. That's fine.
