(January 15, 1919 – September 19, 2011) was the first Prime Minister of Belize and is considered to have been one of the principal architects of the country's independence, and is today referred to by many as "the Father of the Nation".

Born in Belize City to William and Irene (née Escalante) Price, he entered politics in 1947 with his election to the Belize City Council. Three years later, on September 29, 1950, he co-founded the People's United Party, which he led for four decades and which was devoted to the political and economic independence of the British colony, then known as British Honduras.[1]

He was buried yesterday at the Lord Ridge Cemetery in Belize City, may he rest in peace.

It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in man.

I must say, he had a very stately funeral, however, he was not taken to a church, per say, but intead they had a makeshift "chapel" where all the denominations blessed the man's body... that was, to me, just 'for show' but any whooo
