| I'm thinking about vacationing in the Caribbean or in Central America on the Coast but I am not sure where I should go for my first trip down there. I've been down to Florida and Key West, which was nice, but I want to go to an island this time. Any suggestions? |

I just loved the St. John area (in the U.S. Virgin Islands) for it's natural beauty. Trunk Bay was one of the most beautiful places I'd ever seen. I also really enjoyed Aruba (great beaches, great weather and terrific restaurants and nightlife). I've heard from others that say that Bermuda is a great place to go if you like to have a lot of "things to do". One place to check out may be Margarita Island. If you want island that is unaffected by tourism go to Montserrat. Its a really friendly place and is totally beautiful. Its especially good if you like walking etc as there are some stunning views of the volcano.  If you have the opportunity and want to experience a beautiful Isand gem in the carribbean check-out BARBADOS. This Island beauty is just fantastic. Water activities galore, great night-life restaurants and bars. The local people BARBADIANS are very friendly and helpful. The beaches are one of the finest in the world. Have a fun and safe time in Barbados.

Since I am here in the Central Europe, I will talk about near destinations (at the sea). I could warmly recommend Egypt. It's not so expensive and it takes 3-4 hours to get there by plane. I recommend to buy a trip at the travel agency because exploring Egypt by oneself could be adventurous and funny but there is no chance to see everything in a short time like with Egyptian travel agencies.
If you like non luxurious vacations, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Albania and Croatia are nice and friendly places. Greece offers luxurious islands and non luxurious coast.
I would like to visit Portugal, Spain, Turkey and this year's hit is Tunisia (cheap and affordable vacations from Slovakia). Canary Islands, Cyprus,...

I am happy if we can get a hotel for good price. I was surprised by hotel in Hurghada, Egypt. It was 4* hotel but number of stars varies in different countries. I am not that kind of tourist who needs golden toilet and 4 servants  I like it simple. I need bed, bathroom and that's enough. I am ok with breakfast and dinner. In Egypt we had all inclusive for the first time. I liked it but my belly was full after 3 meals a day. They cooked very well. That hotel was paradise. I can use also hostels or bed & breakfast also with shared bathroom but I like private double bed room, no mixed 10 bed dorms It's good solution for weekend trips like I was in Rome and I plan Istanbul in this way too.------------- Peace out |
