Reminder & Clarification of Double Posting Policy & New Forum Area

Since we have a lot of non-discussion topics where people post quotes, words, lyrics, etc., we have created a new forum area specifically for those type of posts.

Currently it is called:

http://www.caribbeanchoice.com/forums/forum_topics.asp?FID=76 - Jokes, Quotes, Poems, Lyrics, Games & More
Mostly non-discussion posts where people post a series of posts in a row.

(We may change the title later.)

Clarification of rules:
  • Double Posting (posting twice or more in a row in the same topic) is PROHIBITED in all forum areas EXCEPT in http://www.caribbeanchoice.com/forums/forum_topics.asp?FID=76 - the above mentioned forum area .  This means you are not allowed to break your post into more than one piece so you can increase your post count or votes for your island.
  • DO NOT turn a discussion into a non-discussion by repeatedly posting quotes or comments to a topic that started off as a discussion.  If the topic started off as a discussion, then discuss it.  Posting multiple quotes or comments in a row as separate posts is not considered discussing a topic.
Penalties:
  • Your posts may be edited, combined or deleted.  Your post count may be reduced, and any votes you may have earned may be subtracted.
  • Repeated violations after warnings may result in a ban and/or an up to 10,000 vote fine to the country you are voting for.
Why are we doing this?

Many people subscribe to the forums via e-mail or RSS, and cannot follow the discussions because they are flooded with Word Association Game, Lyrics, Poems and Jokes posts.  To help people subscribe only to the items they want to see, we are separating discussion topics from non-discussion topics.

Hopefully this will help keep discussions alive, while allowing people to post to the games, lyrics, quotes and other similar threads.

Thank you for understanding. Smile

Clarification of Double Posting Policy

To clarify, double posting HAS ALWAYS BEEN PROHIBITED. The double posting rule is actually NOT new.  Please see the forum rules for details.

Further Clarification of Forum Rules

These are NOT rule changes!!!

Double Posting (posting twice or more in a row in the same topic) is PROHIBITED in all forum areas EXCEPT in forum_topics.asp?FID=76 - the above mentioned forum area .  This means you are not allowed to break your post into more than one piece so you can increase your post count or votes for your island.

Double posting has been prohibited since September 1, 2003.  This is not new.  In fact we are actually giving you an exception now.

DO NOT turn a discussion into a non-discussion by repeatedly posting quotes or comments to a topic that started off as a discussion.  If the topic started off as a discussion, then discuss it.  Posting multiple quotes or comments in a row as separate posts is not considered discussing a topic.

This falls under the rule that requires you to keep topics ON TOPIC.  It also falls under the rule prohibiting spamming.  Again, these rules have existed since September 1, 2003.

So there actually are no new rules here.  Just a clarification of existing rules.
