Husband and wife team Paris Permenter and John Bigley have authored over 20 guidebooks and also edit the FREE Lovetripper.com, a romantic travel magazine featuring worldwide destinations.

Paris Permenter and John Bigley are the founders of Lovetripper.com. Along with editing the online publication, the husband-wife team have also authored over two dozen guidebooks and also freelance for numerous travel publications with over 1,500 published articles.
Paris’s desire for travel began at an early age. Born in the Presidio in San Francisco, Paris’s first years were spent moving frequently, finally settling in Texas in 1969. John is a native Texan, born in La Grange east of San Antonio. John’s first forays into professional writing were in the field of poetry, publishing his first book in 1973.
After marriage in 1986, the couple realized their shared talent and interest in the field of nonfiction, specifically travel. Since that time, the couple has reported on travel, specializing in romantic travel.
Their writing has taken the couple around the globe in search of romantic getaways. The two have traveled extensively including India, Italy, Switzerland, Malaysia, Morocco, Egypt, Cyprus, Israel, the UK, Malta, Jordan, Mexico, and most islands in the Caribbean. Having visited six continents, the couple continues to seek out new destinations of special interest to other couples.
Much of their travel has been in the Caribbean. The pair have authored over two dozen guidebooks to the Caribbean islands. Their guides include Lovetripper.com’s Guide to Caribbean Destination Weddings (Riviera Books), Romantic Escapes in the Caribbean (Hunter Publishing), Caribbean for Lovers (Prima), Gourmet Getaways (Callawind), Adventure Guide to the Cayman Islands (Hunter Publishing), Adventure Guide to Jamaica (Hunter Publishing), and many others.
The couple’s work has received many accolades from various organizations. In 1994, Paris and John’s Texas Barbecue guide received the Best Regional Book award by the Mid-America Publishers Association. Their Adventure Guide to the Leeward Islands was awarded second place in the Best Book competition sponsored by the Society of American Travel Writers Central States chapter in 1999. In 1995, 1996, and 1997, articles by the couple appearing in Fiesta magazine won them awards of merit from the Women in Communication San Antonio Professional Chapter. In 1996, the Austin Chronicle readers' poll awarded their Texas Getaways for Two guidebook the title of Best Romantic Travel Book.
As members of the prestigious Society of American Travel Writers, Paris and John appear frequently on local television and radio programs promoting travel.
Today Paris and John live with their dogs and cats; their daughter, Lauren, is presently enrolled at the University of Texas at Austin and is studying radio, TV, and film. The couple enjoys the outdoors, photography, and travel.
