The Most Luxurious Hotels in St. Lucia
By Peter Knowler
St. Lucia is a breathtaking location, with awesome volcanic scenery, a beautiful coastline and superb tropical weather. It is not, however, the cheapest destination in the Caribbean for hotels. Many people, when visiting St. Lucia hotels, like to go the whole hog and live in absolute luxury and decadence during their time in St. Lucia. The island's hotels cater well for this, and there is a whole range of world class accommodation available for those looking for a little something extra for their time in the Caribbean.
Here are four of the most luxurious St. Lucia hotels:
* The Ladera resort, located in the fashionable Anse Chastanet beach area of the island is one of St. Lucia's premier luxury hotels. Every villa and suite (the Ladera is an exclusive spot, only 6 and 19 of each respectively) has an open wall facing out onto a private pool for the guests. The suites are elegantly furnished and spa treatments are provided for guests. The staff are extremely helpful, and well trained in organising the perfect day trip for you, no matter how exotic. They are also always at hand to help with planning your holiday.
* The Jalousie Plantation offers its guests a taste of old world luxury and charm. This magnificent hotel is set on 100 acres of rainforest and former colonial plantation in the valley near the landmark Piton volcanic peaks. The grounds of the resort are stunningly beautiful and offer perfect seclusion and privacy. The hotel itself offers everything you would expect from a high class resort - a full spa for its guests, world class dining and pampered suites.
* Windjammer Landing offers private villas to its guests, many with their own private pools. The 60 acre site has a decidedly Mediterranean feel to its architecture, with 1500 feet of pristine white sand on its private beaches. As usual for a luxury St. Lucia hotel of this calibre, it is well appointed with a full spa and fitness room.
* Anse Chastanet is the leading name in luxury in St. Lucia with its incredible 600 acre site, private cove, and perfect location under the peaks of the Pitons. The accommodation is unique and luxurious, with individually designed suites and gazebos for guests, located across the resort, offering complete privacy. The resort has two private beaches and excellent restaurants to make sure your every need is met in this most relaxing of St. Lucia hotels.
