By Patricia Strasser

 Travel / Destination

Because of its warm climate, Florida is fondly called the Sunshine State. Lots of people like to go to Florida for tours and vacations because of its great climate. The Sunshine State also is popular for its collection of beaches that are perfectly complemented by the warm weather. There are also numerous tourist destinations where guests can take advantage of st. augustine coupons and try different shopping experiences. While you're in Florida, make sure to visit some of these great places.

Fort Myers Beach is a popular destination

Fort Myers Beach's emerald waters and white sands and sand bars are enough to draw in anyone looking for some rest and relaxation. Fort Myers has earned the title of the "world's safest" beach because of its gentle waves and calm seas. The paradisaical atmosphere of Fort Myers Beach can further be enjoyed by staying in one of the many resorts and cottages in the area. Guests can also enjoy fresh sea food in various restaurants.

St. Augustine' Castillo de San Marcos National Monument

The Castillo is considered the oldest masonry fort in the entire United States and is a remnant of previous battles and one proof of Florida's rich history. The fort stands in the historical city of St. Augustine. The edifice alone, constructed with imposing limestone, is sufficiently impressive to wow tourists. When you visit the Castillo, you'll enjoy live historical reenactments, weapon demonstrations and ranger talks, and you'll see a wide assortment of artifacts and cultural exhibits all of which are designed to give you a flavor of what life was like when this fort was new.

Orlando's famous Universal Studios

Florida contains many world renowned theme park rides, Universal Studios happens to be one of them. A fantastic destination for movie fans, Universal Studios contains many attractions bases on famous and popular films. There are 5 islands on the 110 acre park and each one is based on a specific theme with special rides as well as shops. At Universal Studios, you'll also find the Universal City Walk, which is a 38-acre entertainment complex that features nightclubs, restaurants, a 20-screen theater and various themed restaurants.

The St. Augustine Alligator Farm has it all for you

Founded circa 1900, St. Augustine Alligator Farm is a must-see on many Florida visitors' lists. The farm features a diverse collection of exotic reptiles and other species of animals and wildlife shows that allow guests to enjoy an educational and exciting visit. There is also a snack bar and picnic area at the farm where guests may enjoy refreshments.

Put Pier Park in Panama on your itinerary

Panama City's Pier Park, with its highly unusual take on shopping, must be a shopaholics dream come true, for it gets millions of visitors a year. People who visit will be privy to an outdoor shopping experience; there are loads of specialty shops, boutiques, and restaurants at a variety of price ranges.

Florida is a very special state that appeals to visitors because of its contemporary lifestyle, natural beauty and old world appeal.
